Lemote Company Survey:

Established on June, 2006, Jiangsu Lemote Tech Co., Ltd ("Lemote Tech" for short) was invested by both Jiangsu Menglan Group Co., Ltd and The Institution of Computing Technology, Chinese Academic of Science(CAS) . The predecessor of the corporation was the Center of Technology Research and Development of Jiangsu Loongson CPU Industrialization Base.

The series of Loongson processors is the major scientific achievement supported by China 863 Project of CAS. The achievements of Loongson CPU announced that China had taken a place in the field of chip-core technology, which is an important topic of global information technology.

Based on this domestic technology of Loongson processors, Lemote Tech researches and develops complete chipsets, chips for SoC system, referenced system designs, infrastructure software system and application solutions which have independent core competency. Together with collaborators nationally and aboard, Lemote Tech is dedicated on making free software computer devices popular.

Lemote Tech is one of the major suppliers for Loongson processors and the related system solutions, including visual machine and its special chips, network video monitoring servers, mini-PC, network computers, 3C STB (Set-Top-Box) and notebooks etc. These solutions are characterized by low cost, high performance, and high security.

Loongson 2F CPU

The Loongson 2F is an evolution of the Loongson 2E with enhanced I/O and compatibility to MIPS64. The Loongson 2F has high performance equal to Pentium 4.

The Loongson2F has a standard 32-bit PCI/PCI-X interface, a standard 64-bit DDR2 interface, an 8/16- bit Local IO interface, a 4-bit GPIO interface and an enhanced processor core developed from Loongson 2E. It is intended to be built into a system via standard PCI/PCI-X bus.

It can both act as a master or a target PCI/PCI-X as device/host. It is also intended to achieve higher memory bandwidth access by utilizing a 64-bit DDR2 memory controller. It is expected to have better power management ability by using a software manageable work frequency changing scheme.

The operating system can utilize this feature to change the processor frequency according to the workload. The Loongson 2F integrates a video accelerator module in its write data path to PCI/PCI-X controller. Accompany with a software driver, the video accelerate module can transfer YUV format video data to RGB format and do zoom action automatically. This can greatly reduce the processor's work load when the system utilizes a simple VGA controller.
